All is dark
all is blackness
the night is all consuming
the air starts to stir
a sliver ekes out
disguised in vapour clouds
and its glittering teeth
illuminate the countryside
the slow pale shadows envelop mystery
the brittle air
bleached sunlit corridor
of floated dust particles glitter like stars
and as the face of it
frowns down on our sins
it has a joyful smirk you know what it is
its gentle decline until it vanishes
from sight, disappears into the next month
